Anno 1404, also known as Dawn of Discovery in North America, is a real-time strategy and city-building game. It was developed by Related Designs and is published by Ubisoft. Anno 1404 is the sequel to Anno 1701 and is the latest installment in the Anno series.

As with other Anno games, the player starts as leader of an unarmed country which must colonize and expand in the game world. While the player expands their in-game territory, other computer controlled rivals are also expanding and strengthening their countries. As the player progresses through the game, they have access to lodge activities and troops which allow them to invade and ultimately to defeat other players. Anno 1404 features an updated interface, bigger islands and worlds to explore, a sandbox mode, and other features new to the Anno series.

INSTALL

Just drag and drop the Anno 1404.app into your Application Folder and run it. No crack is needed . Eventually you might need to change the in-game preferences of your graphic settings to Medium in order to experience no graphic bugs (like no rendering of 3D graphics at all).

You also might want to deny any outgoing connections by telling Little Snitch to do so

It runs very smoothly on my 3.06 GHz iMac with NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS under Snow Leopard 10.6.1. I can't tell exact system requirements as it is an unofficial Cider port. So your milage may vary

SET LANGUAGE

During its first run Anno 1404 will start up in english and install the needed preferences into /Users/Username/Library/Preferences/Anno 1404 Preferences/. This Cider port supports the following in-game languages:

English, German, Spanish, French and Italian

After the first run you can set the language manually by navigating to

/Users/Username/Library/Preferences/Anno 1404 Preferences/p_drive/User/Application Data/Ubisoft/Anno1404/Config/

and open Engine.ini with any editor of your choice. Find the following line inside this file:

eng

You can change the tag to the following values

eng -> English
ger -> German
esp -> Spanish
fra -> French
ita -> Italian

Save/Replace the file, start Anno 1404 and you are set in the language of your choice
